Shortcutz Chaves is set to become the newest and most dynamic film event in the Alto Tâmega and Barroso region.
As part of the global Shortcutz Network, this project brings short films to the forefront, creating a space where filmmakers, actors, screenwriters, producers, and audiences come together in an atmosphere of discovery and exchange.
Shortcutz Chaves is a monthly film festival dedicated to short films, showcasing emerging talent from Portugal and beyond. Each session features:
– Two films in competition, directed by Portuguese filmmakers or produced primarily in Portugal;
– One guest film, selected from anywhere in the world;
– Engaging discussions and Q&A sessions, allowing audiences to interact directly with the filmmakers.
Firmly rooted in Chaves’ culture and identity, Shortcutz Chaves aims to:
– Foster a regular short film exhibition culture, developing critical thinking and cinematic appreciation among local audiences;
– Promote Chaves as a film location, highlighting its cinematic potential for future productions;
– Create bridges between young filmmakers and the industry, helping their work gain exposure and commercial viability.
