Shortcutz Ovar has been programming and screening short films since 2017, hosting filmmakers in monthly sessions at the School of Arts and Crafts, with the support of the Ovar City Council and integrating the municipality’s cultural programming.
The official selection for each annual season is monitored by a jury that distinguishes the best short film, animation and first work of the year, and by the audience who chooses the best film by voting in the sessions.
At the same time, a jury of young film lovers defines a specific program for sessions held in a school context.

Shortcutz Ovar accepts submissions of short films by Portuguese directors and/or produced in Portugal, with a year of production before the year of exhibition, and a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
